| This is a book that feels so true to me I sometimes forget it's a fictional story. The entire story sprung into my mind within a two day period, though it took much longer to write it all down. I've always thought it was a kind of story that can only be told through sex. There can be no fading to black just as things heat up. How people behave during sex says almost more about them than how they do anything else in their day, or anything they may say in conversation. Sex is where the truth comes out, whether ugly or beautiful. I wanted to tell a story about that. And also the story of one person's sexual history. From the beginning. It's an erotic story full of both sadness and hope. And while I want people to enjoy the steamy sex scenes in the book, I hope they can see past the explicitness of those scenes to the human story underneath. |
